Agile Analog has successfully delivered a robust anti-tamper solution to a prominent fabless semiconductor company in Taiwan. As part of this deployment, the Agile Analog team provided a suite of highly configurable, multi-process analog security IP, including its newly developed Clock Attack Monitor (agileCAM), an enhanced Voltage Glitch Detector (agileVGLITCH), a Digital Temperature Sensor (agileTSENSE_D), and an IR Drop Detector (agileIRDROP). These components work together to equip a data center application with advanced security measures for detecting and preventing tampering attempts.
Headquartered in Cambridge, UK, Agile Analog employs a groundbreaking approach to analog IP development, leveraging automated technology to create solutions tailored to customers’ exact specifications, compatible with any foundry and process. These fully verified, digitally wrapped solutions span key areas such as data conversion, power management, IC monitoring, security, and always-on IP, ensuring seamless integration into any SoC design. The versatility of these IP products enables their use in a wide range of applications, including High-Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and security-focused systems.
Key Components of the Anti-Tamper Solution
1. agileCAM – A newly introduced mixed-signal ring oscillator-based Clock Attack Monitor designed to detect clock-related tampering, including frequency shifts, clock hold, and clock glitch errors. It features programmable alarm thresholds for precise frequency monitoring.
2. agileVGLITCH – An enhanced Voltage Glitch Detector that safeguards against voltage side-channel attacks (SCAs) and tampering. With programmable glitch threshold levels and nanosecond-resolution detection capabilities, it offers superior protection against voltage-based intrusions.
3. agileTSENSE_D – A Temperature Sensor with an integrated digitizer that delivers digital output. Agile Analog’s proprietary temperature sensor architecture achieves higher accuracy while consuming less power than competing solutions. Temperature monitoring is essential for detecting security breaches and optimizing power, performance, and area (PPA).
4. agileIRDROP – An IR Drop Sensor designed to identify power loss or potential power supply attacks. This sensor includes a voltage reference and comparators configured with multiple threshold levels, enabling multi-level detection for enhanced security.
Together, these customizable analog IP products form a comprehensive anti-tamper solution, continuously monitoring power supply, clock integrity, and temperature fluctuations to identify signs of potential security threats.
