Signal and power integrity exploration environment
Key Benefits
• A general-purpose topology exploration environment for what-if analysis of signals, power, or both signals and power together
• Enables SI/PI analysis using interconnect models that are pre-route, captured from measurement, or extracted using EM tools
• Utilizes the same user interface as Sigrity SystemSI software, but will work on any signal, group of signals, or interface
Cadence® Sigrity™ System Explorer is a general-purpose topology exploration environment that can be used for what-if analysis of signals, power, or both signals and power together. The software enables signal and power integrity analysis using interconnect models that are pre-route (what-if), captured from measurement, or extracted using electromagnetic field (EM) tools such as Cadence Sigrity PowerSI® or Sigrity PowerSI 3D EM Extraction tools. Topologies can be contained on a single fabric or span multiple boards and packages.
This unique and powerful environment utilizes the same user interface as Sigrity SystemSI™ software, but will work on any signal, group of signals, or interface. Sigrity System Explorer allows signals to be grouped, yet managed with a single logical connection on the topology view. Each driver, receiver, discrete, or interconnect model can contain multiple signals as well as power and ground. Connectivity between symbols is managed through the easy-to-use model connection protocol (MCP) editor that shows the internal functionality of each interconnect and allows connectivity to the proper hidden terminals of each symbol.
Once the topology is created, simulations are performed and waveform views are displayed where measurements can be taken. HTML report files can be used to review and document results.

When used along with the Cadence Allegro® Sigrity SI Base, Sigrity System Explorer plays an important role in constraint-driven design. System Explorer topologies can be converted to SigXp, which in turn creates constraints for the Cadence Allegro Constraint Manager.
